Take the time to read about UWG's mission and values. We want attendees to feel at home & be in alignment in values and ethics.
INCLUSIVITY
We are a queer-friendly, secular community where names, pronouns, and self-identified gender and identity are respected. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and care. Harassment, misgendering, or advocacy of beliefs that harm or exclude others will not be tolerated. Participation in our community requires affirming the safety, belonging, and worth of all attendees.
CURIOSITY & TRUST
We trust learners and families to follow their interests and paths. Curiosity, exploration, and self-directed learning are central to who we are.
BELONGING
We believe unschoolers of all ages deserve a space where they are welcomed, valued, and free to be themselves. Everyone belongs here.
CONNECTION
Community is at the heart of UWG. We value authentic relationships, shared experiences, and the friendships that grow when people feel safe and supported.
RESPECT
We honor personal autonomy, consent, and mutual respect in all interactions. Diverse identities, experiences, and perspectives are not just accepted — they’re celebrated.
COMMUNITY CARE
We look out for one another. Safety, kindness, and care for the collective guide how we show up and how we hold space for our community.
UWG MISSION STATEMENT
